What is this
This website hosts the book on Groups; 'Illusions of Self in the Complex Hierarchical'. The title may be a bit wordy, a bit unwieldy, but that's Complex Hierarchies for you; you really have to adjust to fit into them, not the other way round. The book is in a sense something that started out as an investigation but then becomes a sort of narrative - but told in neither first or third person - following a writer who originally just set about trying to prove the notion that the structure of groups - especially in the context of biological life - are a fundamental determining factor of the behaviour and relationships of the creatures or perhaps even just 'things' that exist within it by examining both evolution and the evolution of our human civilization through that context, but then discovered that this particular perspective causes strange, shocking yet plausible conclusions to emerge regarding the actions of men, women, animals and in of fact all groups one can think of. It is new, it is certainly different, and wherether it is good or not is for you to judge. It is also free - for no other reason than not wanting to exclude people who do not pay for books or don't have money, as I believe all the best ventures are inclusive by definition. It also deliberately includes what is left in written history regarding women, which as you can imagine, results in controversy.
